Self-Care Through Small Daily Rituals: Love is Pink Challenge

You know that feeling when you realize you have spent your whole life caring for someone else and you need to breathe?
When you realize you have always put yourself second and that it is time for a change.

That happened to me at 36.

When I looked back, it became clear to me that I had not been giving myself everything I needed. Many sleepless nights, because of course, sleep is for losers, a lot of stress and too little self-care. At one point, my body said no, very clearly. That was when I knew I had to stop and start listening to myself.

How I Started Taking Care of Myself, Without Big Changes

I did not make radical cuts or major life changes. It all came down to small daily rituals. A few minutes a day, but consistently. And that consistency turned out to be key.

I made a list of things that mattered to me and started introducing them into my routine, without pressure, perfection or guilt. The goal was not to do everything, but to do at least one thing for myself every day.

That idea is how my little self-care challenge, Love is Pink, was born.

Love is Pink, a Self-Care Challenge

Love is Pink consists of 28 small things you can do for yourself every day. Some you will do regularly, some occasionally, and some you may skip, and that is perfectly fine. What matters is that you do not stop after February.

28 small things for self-care:

  1. Stay hydrated
  2. Use clean beauty products
  3. Step into the morning light
  4. Read a chapter of a book instead of scrolling
  5. Choose a superfood snack, such as blueberries, raspberries or berries
  6. Create a tea-drinking ritual
  7. Stretch
  8. Drink lemon in lukewarm water in the morning
  9. Eat fermented foods
  10. Write down three things you are grateful for
  11. Meditate for 5 minutes
  12. Go to the sauna
  13. Do something kind for a friend
  14. Massage your face while applying serum or cream
  15. Treat yourself to a bath
  16. Let go of one thing that no longer serves you
  17. Get a quality sleep mask
  18. Plant something
  19. Spend time in nature
  20. Apply a face mask
  21. Make a list of things that bring you joy
  22. Take a short walk after a meal
  23. Go to bed earlier
  24. Listen to your favorite music
  25. Try dry body brushing
  26. Take a short digital break, 30 minutes without your phone
  27. Book a massage
  28. Sing out loud

My Small Daily Habits

This is what small daily habits look like for me.

Nothing spectacular. No perfection. Just small reminders of the things that help me stay connected to myself.

Meditation.
Walking.
Face massage.
Tea.
Kefir.
Dry brushing.
Gratitude journaling.

Some days I manage almost everything. Some days, barely one thing. And that is okay. Self-care is not a to-do list, but a relationship we build with ourselves little by little.

Why I Created My Own Clean Beauty Line

During the period when my body said no, I started actively looking for ways to give it what it truly needed. That is how the idea for my own clean beauty line, Maleena, was born.

It was important to me to use cosmetics that were:

-free from hormone disruptors

-free from unnecessary and harsh ingredients

-but still effective and pleasant for everyday use

If we apply products to our skin every day, they should be part of our self-care, not another source of stress for the body.

Love is Pink is not a perfection challenge.
It is a reminder that self-care is a foundation, not a luxury. 💗
